In this case, the money source that you have deposited will be automatically debited. In case of a bank account, this works via a direct debit mandate, in case of a credit card via the normal billing.

Keep in mind that your PayPal balance cannot be used as a limit! This would only work if you deposit a certain amount at PayPal and then remove your payment source.

PayPal One Touch

PayPal One Touch allows you to stay logged in to the payment provider permanently. So you have the possibility to pay directly without entering your login data. To do this, simply activate the function on your cell phone, tablet or PC of your choice. The function is only activated on this device. So how does PayPal deal with this challenge?

Already at the level of communication between the customer's browser and PayPal's servers, security procedures are used. The Hyper Text Transfer Protocol (HTTP), which is normally transmitted in plain text, is encrypted via Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), making it unreadable for unauthorized persons. You can check for yourself that you are communicating via such a secure connection. If the PayPal website is preceded by "https:// " in the address bar of your browser, the secure connection is established. If you want to pay with PayPal in the online casino, you will automatically be redirected to such an SSL connection to the PayPal server.

In addition, you can use the PayPal security key to better secure access to your PayPal account. The small device that fits on your key ring automatically generates a unique numeric code every 30 seconds, which you have to enter when logging in to the PayPal website. So even with your email address and password, an attacker still can't access your e-wallet. However, if you lose the key, you are not locked out: Several security questions, which you can choose yourself and whose answers only you know, will then open the gates to PayPal for you.

To make sure that no one can link your real bank account with their own PayPal account, a test transfer will take place. After giving your account information PayPal transfers 0,01 € to this account for verification. The reason for transfer contains a 4-digit code, which you have to enter in your PayPal account. Furthermore, PayPal is also very involved in the clarification of other fraud methods. Examples of politically questionable actions include the blocking of the Wikileaks account, the blocking of a crowdfunding account for the book by murdered Russian oppositionist Boris Yefimovich Nemtsov, and the embargo of Cuban products in New Zealand online stores. A good example for unserious actions of PayPal was the blocking of a business account in 2010. Because there had been a problem with a payment transaction on the private account of a young man, the business account of his father was blocked. When the father inquired by telephone, reference was made to his son's account as the reason for the account blocking. Firstly, the linking of the two accounts is absolutely dubious and secondly, this reference is more than questionable in terms of data protection law. And that's not all: In the end, the whole process was even completely unnecessary! PayPal later certified the son in writing that he was not at all to blame for the irregularities that originally triggered the controversy!

The missing control by New Zealand supervisory authorities

The described problems of the "PayPal Bank" are also due to the fact that it is not a bank in the conventional sense. The company invokes the applicable law of the European headquarters in Luxembourg and insists on being only a payment service provider, for which different regulations and obligations apply than for a normal financial institution.
